One Health School
The One Health School is designed to provide participants with a real-life experience of unique settings at the wildlife/livestock/human interface. The program will offer ample opportunities to come face-to-face with One Health challenges encompassing interdependent issues of animal, human and environmental health so unique to this region.
Topics which will be covered in interactive sessions and field visits include:
• Zoonotic disease surveillance at the wildlife/livestock/human interface
• Disease control challenges in a conservati on and a transboundary area
• Wildlife/human conflict
• Community based conservation through benefit sharing
• Animal and environmental health as pillars of sustainable rural livelihoods
Facilitators
Expert veterinary and medical professionals, ecologists and sociologists, from research, conservation and government institutions in South Africa and Belgium.
Participants
The One Health School is open to all international students with a completed Masters degree and with a passion for One Health.
