The Centre for Viral Zoonoses, University of Pretoria, is hosting a "One Health Symposium" on the 27th November 2018 to bring together One Health researchers across human, animal and environmental health disciplines from the University of Pretoria, and our collaborators from the National Department of Health, Department of Agriculture, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) and the ARC-Onderstepoort Veterinary Research (ARC-OVR), as well as other universities and organizations, to participate in a symposium that will showcase our One Health collaboration in research and education. The theme of the symposium is "One Health in research and education to drive policy in SA” and focus on: Environmental Research, Human/animal Interface; biotechnology and One Health Education to drive One Health policy in South Africa. The symposium programme will end with with a senior speaker panel discussion on education and research to drive one health policy in South Africa.
