The Smithsonian Exhibit on Outbreaks and One Health: A Synergy of Strengths

Wednesday 12 September 2018

Daniel Lucey is an infectious disease physician who travels to epidemics e.g., SARS, MERS, Flu, Ebola, Zika, & Yellow Fever. August 2014 he proposed an Exhibit on Epidemics to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (NMNH). It opened May 18, 2018 for three years. It uses a One Health view to help educate the public about working together to find solutions and fighting back against Ebola, Flu, HIV, Zika, MERS, Nipah, & SARS. Many dozens of people, a synergy of strengths, helped create the Exhibit and its traveling version. The Curator is Dr. Sabrina Sholts, an NMNH anthropologist. Lucey has worked at Dartmouth, UCSF, Harvard, NIH, and Georgetown.
