Beating Bartonella Color Run
Join LOHA to celebrate One Health Day at the Beating Bartonella Color Run in Sulphur, LA USA! We will start the race with a 3K color run where veterinarians, medical professionals, and other community members that care about the One Health initiative will sponsor a color station. Runners will have a different color thrown on them at each station. Immediately following the color run, the race participants will rotate through the Bartonella Bonanza! Each educational station will be presenting a One Health topic. Presenters will be local vets and public health advocates. Participants will fill out a short quiz assessing what they learned and then we will draw for door prizes!
Some of the topics that will be covered are What is one health?, What is vector borne disease?, What is Zoonotic Infection?, What is Emerging infectious disease?, What is bartonella?- Risk factors, Transmission, Human symptoms- acute and chronic, Bartonellosis Prevention, The importance of flea and tick prevention, and Proper tick removal technique.

Just grab some friends, register, decide on your course, then walk, run, bike, swim, etc your 3K. Cool race swag will be mailed to you.
