Tick ID Workshops for Veterinarians
The Vermont Veterinary Medical Association's One Health Committee will host two Tick ID workshops for veterinarians in early November as part of our ongoing work in keeping our members fully updated on the expanding One Health topic of vector-borne diseases. Both Lyme Disease and anaplasmosis are on the rise in Vermont, and it is important for veterinarians to be able to educate animal owners about these and other vector-borne diseases. Our workshops will provide lecture background and lab identification exercise regarding the most prevalent and medically important species of ticks in Vermont as well as comparative epidemiology of Lyme Disease and anaplasmosis. There will also be an opportunity for veterinarian round-table discussion of what's being newly seen y in vector-borne disease in clinics.
