Celebrating One Health Day for the first time in Georgia
Georgia joins a global event dedicated to One Health Day. A multi-sectorial meeting will be held at the newly opened headquarters of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) of Georgia, where a One Health division has just been formed. Participants of the meeting are stakeholders from the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from The Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia (MOH), Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA), World Health Organization's (WHO) country office, and Centers for Disease Prevention and Control's (WHO) country office, together with representatives from the countrie's public health centers and medical societies. During the meeting, One Health-related challenges, problems, and plans of Georgia will be presented. Flyers, posters, and other types of information materials on specific zoonotic diseases will be developed and presented.
