One Health Finland in collaboration with the Society of Microbiologists in Finland, the American Society for Microbiology and the Department of Microbiology, University of Helsinki, will organize a cross-disciplinary seminar on antimicrobial resistance. Antimicrobial resistance is often thought of as a human healthcare related issue. However, in addition to antibiotic use in human medicine, antimicrobial resistance is affected, among others, by actions in agriculture and veterinary medicine. To understand and limit the spread of resistance, a broad approach across multiple sectors is needed. One Health Finland has invited specialists from human medicine, veterinary medicine and microbiology to introduce their approach on antimicrobial resistance. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
