One Health Day: Educating the Public on One Health
The George Washington University Students for One Health Organization is celebrating One Health Day on Friday, November 15th by hosting an event focused on ways experts in the field are educating the general public on One Health concepts. This will lead into a discussion about how we can continue to spread the message of One Health to becoming a common, mainstream idea. Our event has three confirmed speakers who have significantly contributed to spreading One Health concepts:
(1) K. Blair Budd - Director of the One Health Academy
(2) Deborah Thomson, DVM - Congressional Science and Engineering Policy Fellow at the American Veterinary Medical Association and creator of a curriculum to educate elementary-aged students about One Health,
(3) Dr. Daniel Lucey - Senior Scholar at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, Adjunct Professor of Law, adjunct Professor of Medicine-Infectious Diseases at Georgetown University, and proposed the creation of the Outbreak Exhibit in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
