One Health Special Topic Workshop
As part of our first annual One Health Week at the University of Connecticut, we will include a presentation and discussion on a specific topic related to one health. Our chosen topic is fast fashion/ consumerism. "Fast-fashion" is a term used to explain products from companies that mass produce their items at a rapid rate, using cheap materials. The products end up being cheap for the consumer but in many cases the production was typically in an unethical or wasteful in ways that have severe negative affects on the workers, and the environment. Attend this event to learn more and discuss ways we as consumers contribute and what action steps we can take against the harms of fast fashion!
