One-year activities of "One Health" coalition: existing problems and their solutions
On the eve of International One Health Day 2018, four Armenian NGOs dealing with public health, food safety and environmental protection joined into a «One Health» coalition. The aim of «One Health» coalition is to improve health and well-being through the prevention of risks and the mitigation of effects of crises that originate at the interface between humans, animals, plants and their various environments through promotion of a cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary approach to assessment of risks to health in Armenia and Artsakh and their collaborative management through“whole of society”approach.
Over the past year, «One Health» coalition was consistent in its efforts towards drawing attention of the society and Government of Armenian on problems and risks identified in human, animal and environmental health areas with particular focus on veterinary public health and environmental health components. On the 2nd of November 2019, a «One Health» coalition will organize a press conference to present its one-year activities, to state problems that yet to be solved and to familiarize stakeholders and Armenian people with further activities of the coalition on One Health pathway throughout Armenia and Artsakh.
