Press briefing on One Health
Attempts have been made in Ghana over the years to implement One Health as a strategy to harness stronger collaboration between the human, environment and animal health sectors but has been very challenging.
Over the past years WHO and FAO has been supporting government ministries responsible for human, environment and animal health to develop a framework to guide their efforts at working together. A One Health Platform has been established and coordinated by the National Disaster management Organisation. The platform has been supported to develop a draft policy on One Health
This year's event is to create awareness among the public and to sensitize policy makers. The press briefing will highlight the importance of One Health Global Health Security and garner support/ advocacy for its implementation in Ghana.
A community-level activity is planned for 19 November, 2020 in a town in the Ashanti Region where researchers, academics, chiefs and ordinary community members will be sensitised on One Health issues
