OHSS Webinar - Integrating OH and Social Sciences in Africa: Examples from Nigeria and Uganda
Dr. Kiki is a veterinarian with interrelated experiences in One Health programming, animal health & welfare, research, and nonprofit management. She acquired her DVM degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and her MSc degree in Global Health and Infectious Diseases from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She is the Executive Director of One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) - a nonprofit that addresses correlated issues of human, animal, and ecosystem health through the One Health approach. She also consults for the African Union's Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR).
Her career is dedicated to promoting and integrating the One Health approach to issues of public health and sustainable development.
Ms. Nankanja’s is a B.A. Social Science graduate from Makerere University, a sociologist by profession, and a life coach. She is also a social innovation entrepreneur and an environment protection activist supporting UN-SDGs #6 and #13. Aisha is the founder of the Rural Water Initiative for Climate Action (RWICA). She is currently working with the Ugandan government under the Ministry of Water and Environment as a sociologist and Aisha is also an active member of the One Health Social Science (OHSS) initiative.
Her work addresses how to change the way humans relate to the planet and each other to ensure a more sustainable future for all life.
