Signaling the world’s vulnerability to disease, and reflecting the core values of One Health, the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn Vet) launched the Institute for Infectious and Zoonotic Diseases (IIZD) to confront emerging and re-emerging zoonotic and vector-borne diseases. Launched on October 26, 2021, in recognition of global One Health Day, the Institute will foster innovations in disease surveillance, treatment, and vaccine development.
