Raising Awareness on Marine Wildlife and One Health in Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Wildlife Health Foundation has launched a campaign to raise awareness to the concept of One Health in relation to wildlife and in particular marine mammals. Marine mammals not only ensure the balance of the marine ecosystem but also act as indicators of ocean health. A bilingual English/ Chinese leaflet has been produced. The leaflet focuses on actions to take if encountering a stranded porpoise or dolphin. Leaflets are distributed to veterinary clinics in Hong Kong, as well as being available on the Hong Kong Wildlife Health website. This campaign aims at increasing the awareness of the One Health approach among Veterinarians in Hong Hong as well as their clients to promote healthy wildlife and ecosystems. This project is partially supported by a grant from the Environment and Conservation Fund, Hong Hong.
