Stakeholders and Consultative One Health Seminar on World One Health Day
The global and national One Health paradigm necessitates the cross-disciplinary and collaborative approach to address the interlinked health of human, animals and the environment/agriculture. Sensitization of One Health approach in Pakistan has been achieved in the last five years and UAF played an important role by organizing three successful national symposia on One Health. Therefore, it is an excellent opportunity and platform of mutual research, teaching and capacity building among the participating stakeholders and organizations. The One Health approach is applicable in areas of animal health (zoonotic diseases, drug resistance, vector-borne diseases), human health (nutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases), environment/agriculture (drug residues, toxicities, food security & safety, water-borne diseases, vector density). Hence, it is plausible to promote this multidisciplinary and multisectoral One Health collaboration for solution-based community health or services.
