Commemoration Event for the Global One Health Day in Ethiopia
As Ethiopia continues to embrace the One Health concept and work for the creation of a more sustainable coordination mechanism amongst sectors, we honor the global One Health Day in Ethiopia in the presence of high-level government ministers and development partner leaders.
Ministers, State Ministers, Commissioners and Heads of development partner agencies will attend the event. Over 80 delegates comprising of federal ministries at the national level, in particular Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Environment Protection Authority, and Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority as well as Regional Bureaus of Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Environment and Wildlife will attend the event. They will present key achievements of One Health operationalization and bring the subject of peddling the path to a more sustainable platform up for discussion.
The event will provide a forum for few inciting presentations and discussions on:
(1) Evolution and key achievements of the One Health approach in Ethiopia;
(2) Case study; Potential Drivers of Zoonotic Diseases Emergence and Spill over in Ethiopia; Importance of One Health policy recommendation
(3) Path to Sustainable One Health Operationalization; High level leaders support and recommendations
An opportunity for the sectors collaborating in One Health approach, to receive tailored advice and recommendations from high level ministry and development partner representatives with regards the path to be followed to setting up sustainable inter and multi-sectoral One Health Coordination Mechanism
In addition to the above, the event will create an excellent opportunity for networking and establish network of partner and stakeholder organizations.
