Animal-assisted Interventions and One Health: Collaborative AAI programmes - replicable approaches to community developments

Thursday 03 November 2022

Celebrate One Health Day with the Society for Companion Animal Studies (SCAS) – attend our webinar delivered by People and Animals.
One Health: Collaborative AAI programmes - Replicable approaches to community development
SCAS members are practitioners and academics drawn from the health, social care and education professions interested in human-animal interactions. Much of our work concerns Animal-assisted interventions, a One Health intervention that includes animals in health, education and human services for therapeutic gains.
The health and welfare of people and companion animals is inextricably linked, and many challenges are best addressed by applying a transdisciplinary approach. Animal-assisted interventions (AAI) employ transdisciplinary collaboration to deliver health and social benefits to a wide range of client groups through careful planning and the involvement of carefully selected, accredited animals.
SCAS is a signatory to the IAHAIO Chicago 2013 Declaration on One Health
