"The Ocean Health Symposium "Emerging Marine Diseases, Regulations and Governance " will explore the interdependencies of ocean disease, extreme events and the overall integrity of ocean ecosystems, referred to as “Ocean Health”. Extreme events such as heat waves are increasing disease outbreaks with consequences on ocean ecosystem functioning, while many of the emerging pathogens are still unknown. A broad range of disciplines are invited to exchange their views on ocean disease, ocean health, and related governance to articulate one ocean health perspective and its connection with the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development project “Beyond One Ocean Health”. - ONE HEALTH, ONE OCEAN.
