Since 2019, VSF-Suisse, Amref Health Africa and ILRI have been operationalizing One Health among pastoral communities in the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia) through the One Health for Humans, Environment, Animals and Livelihood (OH4HEAL). The program aims to improve the wellbeing and resilience of pastoral communities by piloting a new service delivery model that provides quality human, animal and rangeland health services in an integrated and collaborative manner. OH4HEAL plans to celebrate the Global OH Day during the Project Steering Committee meeting (14/11/2023). The event will bring together government officials, implementing partners and donors from the three countries to analyze progresses made with the new service delivery model, discuss challenges to its implementation, and identify promising practices to increase local ownership and leadership. Evidence collected at local level will support the recognition of One Health and inform the development of new policies in the region.
