As the international community, the world One health day has been celebrated on Friday, November 03, 2023. The official ceremony was presided over by the Coordinator of the Global One Health Security Multisectoral Program, Dr Adjaratou Diakhou NDIAYE.
Indeed, since 2017, Senegal has set up the National Council for Global One Health Security, which is the state structure in charge of strengthening Health Security according to a One Health approach.
Through the multisectoral Global Health Security Program, we implement and coordinate a large number of activities based on a OneHealth approach, in collaboration with several sectors (human, animal, plant and environmental health, education, sanitation...) and actors including community players, private sector and civil society.
This year, the theme adopted for this World One Health Day is: "Connecting Air, Earth and Water".
It was a solemn opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of implementing the OneHealth approach, and above all to advocate the provision of sufficient resources to strengthen Health Security using a multi-sectoral and multi-disciplinary approach, to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of interventions.
