Special Issue in The Caribbean Medical Journal: Climate Change and Health in Small Island and Low Lying Developing States

Monday 05 June 2023 - Thursday 31 August 2023

The Caribbean Medical Journal (CMJ) is the official journal of the Trinidad and Tobago Medical Association. This was a special issue published in the CMJ aimed at promoting the awareness of Climate Change and Health regionally. We found this special issue to be overlapping wit the One Health concept.

Small island and low-lying developing states (SIDS) like those in the Caribbean are particularly vulnerable to the adverse health effects of climate change. In this special issue, we invite submissions on the various links between health and climate change in SIDS. Article types include original research, viewpoints, short reports, case studies, quality improvement projects, literature reviews. Submissions should focus on the following broad topic areas or be cross-cutting, but articles on other relevant health related topics are also welcomed:
1. Health impacts of climate change
2. Climate resilient health systems
3. Sustainable healthcare
4. Community and government engagement
