Urbanization in Utah: Health Impacts for People, Animals, and the Environment
Friday 03 November 2023
The Utah One Health Symposium (now in its ninth year) gives health professionals, educators and researchers, and policy-makers, the opportunity to learn about the interdependence of human and natural systems.
This year, our focus is to explore the dynamic changes at urban-wildlife interfaces. We'll look at human influence and land-use change as they affect risk of emerging diseases. We will consider humans' connection to the land, and some of the factors that drive urbanization. The Symposium is a collaborative of local, state and federal agencies and the Utah State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
