One Health Education; Interdisciplinary Way to Protect from 'Anthropocenic' Threats
Anthropogenic factors occurring in the Anthropocene have increased in the last half century, ecological disruptions and Anthropocene threats have become widespread. It has been understood that these Complex Health Problems (CHP’s) of the 21st century “arising from the synergism of factors” affecting the socio-ecological system, cannot be solved with the traditional approach. Huge threats necessitate dynamism and holistic paradigms. This interdisciplinary collaboration paradigm, which takes its intellectual roots from the last half of the 19th century, has been termed the 'One Health' Thought (OHT) in the 21st century. Functionalized OHT is the address for analyzing the dynamic CHP’s of our age. One Health Education is the rational way to popularize OHT and the scientific method of understanding Anthropocene threats, reducing risks, and activating 'preventive awareness'. This conference aimed to explain OHT to Healthcare Professionals and to increase trans-disciplinary thinking with a holistic approach.
