NASA's Earth Action Program Participates in One Health Day 2023

Wednesday 01 November 2023 - Thursday 30 November 2023

The NASA Earth Action Program has prepared a social media communication (Facebook: https://fb.watch/oasDkod58S/) for One Health Day 2023. Using the “How NASA Sees the Air We Breathe” theme (https://science.nasa.gov/earth/a-tale-of-three-pollutants/), this campaign shared information about how NASA, NOAA, and other agencies collaborated on the STAQS and AEROMMA airborne field campaigns to evaluate NASA’s new TEMPO satellite (https://tempo.si.edu/) and better understand air quality challenges in regions like Chicago in Summer 2023. Other areas visited include New York City and Los Angeles. These data will help air quality researchers and managers to better measure major pollutants affecting air quality and collaborate with community stakeholders to develop prompt interventions to mitigate risk of harmful emissions. This campaign also highlighted NASA EarthData (https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/learn/articles/haqast-overview), as a guide to using Earth science data to examine air pollution and other environmental health topics.
