Antimicrobial Resistance in One Health Framework
On November 4, 2024, the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at UVAS, Lahore, Pakistan, hosted an international seminar titled Antimicrobial Resistance in One Health Framework. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Herman Barkema, from the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Director of One Health at UCalgary. Dr. Barkema’s insights shed light on the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance and the importance of a One Health approach in addressing it.
The event was attended by 130 participants from various disciplines and sectors gaining valuable knowledge about the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. It highlighted the need for cross-disciplinary collaboration in tackling pressing health issues like antimicrobial resistance.
