The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is working to strengthen the city's environmental resilience through the "One Health, One Izmir" approach. Within this framework, the Izmir Planning Agency, in cooperation with relevant departments of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, launched the “Citizen Participatory Field Studies and Geographic Information Systems Workshop Series” to mobilize community support for post-fire ecosystem monitoring and rehabilitation processes. During the fieldwork and GIS workshops held at the “Karşıyaka Mutluluk Ormanı,” participants received hands-on training in data collection, analysis, and spatial visualization for the forest ecosystem, using free software tools (KoboToolBox, OpenAerialMap, OpenStreetMap, QGIS). The collected data was shared as open data, contributing to Izmir's environmental resilience strategies based on the One Health approach, which recognizes the interdependence of human and environmental health.
